POWERGEN India 2026: AI & RE Technologies Take Centre Stage

POWERGEN India 2026, an event for the power generation sector, took place from 1st September 2026 to 3rd September 2026 at Yashobhoomi India International Convention and Expo Centre (IICC), Dwarka, New Delhi.
The companies at the expo showcased their products, technologies, and upcoming plans across the power generation and Renewable Energy (RE) sectors.
Key Industry Participants at POWERGEN India 2026
Coal India Limited was the Energy Security Partner for the latest edition of the exhibition, while Schneider Electric and 63SATS Cybertech Limited served as the technology partner and cybersecurity partner, respectively. Other key partners included NLC India, NTPC, ReNew, Grid India, and Green Power International.
Other prominent exhibitors were Toshiba, Tata Power-DDL, Kirloskar Brothers Limited, Madhura Power Technologies, and V. Automat and Instruments.

Toshiba JSW Power Systems Showcases AI-Based Asset Monitoring System

Toshiba JSW Power Systems Private Limited (TJPS), a JV between Japan’s Toshiba Corporation and India’s JSW Group, leveraged the expo to display its AI-driven asset performance monitoring system, EtaPRO.
This system includes various features such as early detection of mechanical faults in rotating machinery, a patented AutoDiagnosis feature for fault identification and forecasting, and predicted lead time for inspection/action required during operations. EtaPRO can detect several faults related to pressure pulsations, instability, expansion-related faults, deformation, etc.
Mr. Rajeev Ranjan, Business Planning Manager at Toshiba, told CableCommunity that the company supplies and deploys the EtaPRO system for major energy utilities and industrial companies across the world. NTPC Limited is among the companies using the system in India. According to Toshiba, EtaPRO has been deployed across 165 thermal and renewable energy power plants owned and operated by NTPC or its joint ventures.
Alongside its AI-based solution, Toshiba JSW Power Systems also manufactures supercritical steam turbines, generators, and turbine blades. These products are manufactured at the company’s plant in Chennai, Tamil Nadu.
ZeroWatt Energy Introduces its AI-Intelligence Platform

ZeroWatt is an IIT Madras-incubated startup founded in 2020. The company has indigenously developed a Python-based data acquisition platform with AI and ML functionalities. It helps different industries to process data from their existing sensors for fault analysis and predictive maintenance.
Talking to CableCommunity, Mr. Sooraj Surendran, Director/COO of ZeroWatt Energy, stated that their platform works as a ‘digital brain’ for industries like Steel, Food Processing, Tech Parks and other manufacturing sectors.
ZeroWatt also stated that the company offers tailored solutions as per site or project requirements for energy savings and increased efficiency. After serving clients in South and West India, the company is now planning to increase its presence in industrial belts of northern India and overseas in UK too.
Kirloskar Brothers’ PICO Micro-Hydro Generator

Kirloskar Brothers Limited showcased its PICO micro-hydro generator at POWERGEN India 2026.
Speaking with CableCommunity, Mr. Mahesh Patil, Engineer at Kirloskar Brothers, said that the PICO is a portable generator which uses water pressure to generate electricity. ‘PICO’ micro-hydro generator is available in rated output capacities ranging from 0.5 KW to 5 KW. Technical specifications of the product include a head up to 60 metres and a flow up to 115 m3/hour. The generator size and specifications can also be customized according to site parameters and customer requirements.
In addition to the PICO generator, Kirloskar Brothers has a product portfolio of pumps, hydro turbines, valves, and packaged systems such as autoprime pump, watermist pump and hydro pneumatic system. Further, the company also offers automation and Internet of Things (IoT) services.
Tata Power-DDL: Commissioned India’s First Micro Substation with Power Voltage Transformer
At POWERGEN India 2026, Tata Power-DDL, a power distribution company operating in Delhi, displayed its projects for improving the city’s power distribution infrastructure. These projects include commissioning of India’s first micro substation with a Power Voltage Transformer (PVT) in Rohini, Delhi. This project was in collaboration with Japan’s Nissin Electric Co. Ltd.
The company’s representative mentioned that Tata Power-DDL operates across an area of around 510 sq Km, covering parts of northern and western Delhi, and has a consumer base of approximately 2.19 million customers.
V. Automat and Instruments Displays Process Control Instruments

V. Automat and Instruments Pvt. Ltd. showcased its range of process control instruments. Mr. Pawan Mourya, Area Sales Manager at V. Automat and Instruments, told CableCommunity that the company operates a manufacturing facility in Faridabad, Haryana, where it manufactures equipment for the power and petrochemical sectors.
The company’s product range includes a varied portfolio such as displacement level transmitters, radar level transmitters, and magnetic level transmitters. V. Automat and Instruments’ switches range includes the boiler drum level switch, flow switch, and conductivity level switch. Further, the company manufactures a range of level indicators, such as bi-color port level indicators and magnetic level indicators. Pneumatic instruments that are manufactured by the company are pneumatic pressure indicating controllers, pneumatic level controllers, and pneumatic temperature indicating controllers.
Mr. Mourya further mentioned that V. Automat and Instruments supplies its products to several companies, including Oil India, NTPC, Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL), Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) and GAIL.
Avaada Electro Highlights Bihar RE Development Plans

Avaada Electro, the manufacturing arm of Avaada Group, presented its N-type TOPCon 720 Watt-peak (Wp) solar modules at POWERGEN India 2026. These modules offer an efficiency of 23.18% and feature 132 rectangular solar cells.
Apart from the 720 Wp module displayed at the exhibition, Avaada Electro also manufactures 630 Wp and 610 Wp solar modules. These are being manufactured at the company’s plants in Dudha, Maharashtra, and Dadri, Uttar Pradesh.
During its interaction with CableCommunity, an Avaada Electro spokesperson discussed the Avaada group’s plans in Bihar. According to the spokesperson, Avaada Group signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Bihar for an investment of Rs. 5,000 crore. Avaada will invest the said amount for the development of renewable energy projects in the state, and the Bihar government will facilitate the company in securing the necessary clearances and approvals from relevant departments.
Madhura Power Technologies’ Partnership with Germany-Based Company

Madhura Power Technologies Private Limited, a manufacturer and distributor of electronic products for engines, generator sets, switchgear and industrial equipment, also participated in POWERGEN India 2026. The company displayed DIN-rail and field power supplies, manufactured by PULS GmbH, a Germany-based company, at POWERGEN India.
At the exhibition, the company highlighted its new role as the Indian channel partner for PULS GmbH. The German company appointed Madhura Power Technologies to distribute its DC power supplies within India.
These power supplies are used in industrial and machine building. The DIN-rail power supplies offer outputs ranging from 5 V to 72 V and 15 W to 960 W, whereas DIN field power supplies deliver outputs of 24 V or 48 V in a power range of 360 watts and 600 watts.
Madhura Power Technologies also offers a range of other products, including electronic speed governors, pump controllers, smart drain valves, and dual-fuel kits.
POWERGEN 2026 Exhibition Reflects Focus on Innovation and Sustainable Development
The POWERGEN India exhibition saw decent footfall from EPC companies, manufacturers, industry professionals, and distributors. The exhibitors used the event to discuss their latest as well as existing product ranges and business plans.
The participation also reflected the focus on digitalisation, electronic equipment, and renewable energy development in India’s power sector. Several state energy departments like Bihar, Karnataka, UP, Maharashtra, West Bengal, etc. also had their stalls demonstrating respective Schemes and Initiatives for energy development and security.
