POWERGEN India Expo 2026: Product Launches and Expansion Plans
POWERGEN India Expo 2026 was held from 1st September to 3rd September 2026 at Yashobhoomi India International Convention and Expo Centre (IICC), Dwarka, New Delhi. The companies at the expo showcased their products, technologies and upcoming plans across the power generation and Renewable Energy (RE) sectors.
The event was co-located with Bharat Electricity and Indian Utility Week. It was jointly organised by ITEN Media Private Limited, Energy and Climate Initiatives Society (ENCIS) and Clarion Energy Limited.
POWERGEN India Expo 2026 was inaugurated by Mr Bhupinder Singh Bhalla, Former Secretary, Ministry of New and Renewable Energy; Mr P.K. Pujari, Former Power Secretary and Former Chairman of the Central Electricity Regulatory Commission (CERC); and Mr Narendra Bhooshan, Additional Chief Secretary for Energy.
POWERGEN Brought Power Generation, Electrical and RE Companies Together
The three-day event reflected the investment and developments taking place across India’s power generation and renewable energy sectors. This latest edition of the expo brought together more than 15,000 industry professionals, over 250 exhibitors and above 150 expert speakers from over 50 countries.
Among the prominent exhibitors were Green Power International Private Limited, CapGen Nergy Pvt. Ltd., Coal India Limited and Gautam Solar Private Limited. The exhibition featured a wide range of products and technologies, including diesel generators, electrical panels, microturbines and solar panel cleaning systems.
Diesel Generators and Push for Cleaner Power Generation
Green Power International Launches Series of Diesel Generators
One of the notable product launches at the expo came from Green Power International, which introduced a new range of diesel generators in partnership with FG Wilson, a generator manufacturer based in Northern Ireland, UK. These generators serve as a reliable backup power source, ensuring uninterrupted workflow and safeguarding businesses against electrical failures.
Speaking with CableCommunity, Mr Shivam Tyagi, Sales Executive at Green Power International, said that the generators are manufactured by FG Wilson, while Green Power International acts as the distributor in India.
The newly launched range, called the FBA Series, has capacities ranging from 40 KVA to 250 KVA. This series is listed on FG Wilson’s site under the ‘India Range’ category for diesel generators. Beyond diesel generator distribution, Green Power’s expertise includes providing EPC services for power plants and offers Compressed Biogas (CBG) setups designed to convert different types of organic waste into Bio-CNG.
Technology to Control Emissions from Diesel Generators
The exhibition also highlighted technologies targeted at reducing the environmental impact associated with diesel generators’ operation.
Automoto Genset Solutions LLP showcased its Retrofit Emission Control Devices (RECDs), which are designed to reduce particulate emissions* from diesel generators. The device is fitted directly to the exhaust pipe of a diesel generator and works as a filtration system to capture particulate matter, including PM2.5 and PM10.
*Particulate emissions refer to microscopic solid or liquid particles suspended in the air, primarily generated by combustion processes, industrial activities, and natural dust.
According to the company, the device can capture up to 99% of particulate matter before it is released into the atmosphere. Mr Nitesh Tiwari, Marketing Operations & Growth Specialist at Automoto Genset Solutions, told team CableCommunity that the RECDs are manufactured at the company’s plant in Samaypur Badli.
Companies Expanding into New Products at POWERGEN
At the expo, Vertex Power Controls Private Limited showcased its newly launched power quality analyzer. The company’s representative told CableCommunity that Vertex Power Controls is a channel partner of Siemens and that the new product has been launched specifically for Siemens.
The representative said the power quality analyzer is a power damage protection system used in HT and LT panels. The company will soon begin supplying the product to Siemens.
Further, the company’s existing portfolio includes Medium Voltage (MV) and Low Voltage (LV) panels, along with instrumentation panels. Vertex Power Controls also provides EPC services for substations.
Tejshri Renewable Solutions Pvt. Ltd., part of The Nandan Group and a manufacturer of electrical panels, showcased its existing product range at the exhibition while also sharing plans for a new product category. The company currently manufactures Low Voltage (LV) power panels and solar electrical panels at its manufacturing facility in Greater Noida.
According to the company’s representative, Tejshri is also planning to enter the High Tension (HT) panel segment. These panels are centralized electrical control enclosures designed to safely distribute, monitor, and interrupt high-voltage power. However, the company has not yet disclosed a timeline for launching the new HT panel range.
Microturbines and Robotic Cleaning Technology Presented at POWERGEN
CapGen Nergy’s 65 KW Microturbine Technology
CapGen Nergy showcased Capstone Green Energy’s gas-powered microturbine technology at the expo as its distributor in India. Capstone Green Energy Corporation is a California-based gas turbine manufacturer that specializes in microturbine power. CapGen Nergy showcased the 65 KW microturbine at the expo.
The features of this microturbine technology include patented air-bearing technology, remote monitoring, high power density, and advanced combustion controls. Capstone Green Energy manufactures microturbines with various power output capacities, including 65 KW, 200 KW, 600 KW, 800 KW, and 1,000 KW.
According to Mr Ganesh R. Kemdare, Service Engineer at CapGen said that this technology is supplied mainly to oil and gas companies, including ONGC. Mr Kemdare said that the company offers commercial, industrial and utility-scale microturbine solutions, with capacities depending on customer requirements. He further added that these microturbines are more expensive compared with diesel ones. Interestingly, the compact size of the technology also attracted attention at the exhibition, with the company displaying the microturbine within a relatively small space at its stall.
KiNergY Renewables showcases Robotic Solar Panel Cleaning Systems
Another technology that stood out at the exhibition was a robotic solar panel cleaning system showcased by KiNergY Renewables Pvt. Limited. According to the company, its cleaning technology can help increase solar power generation by up to 15%, while its water-saving capability can save up to 12 million litres of water per MW.
KiNergY Renewables manufactures several types of solar cleaning systems, including an Automatic Waterless Cleaning Robot, Lift and Shift Dry Cleaning Robot, and Water-Based Robot. This technology addresses one of the practical challenges associated with large-scale solar installations, where dust and dirt accumulation on panels can affect their performance and regular cleaning can require significant amounts of water.
New Manufacturing Plans and Product Developments Shared at POWERGEN 2026
The exhibition was not limited to product showcases. Several companies also shared details of their upcoming manufacturing plants and expansion plans during conversations with the team of CableCommunity.
Gautam Solar’s Rs. 4,000 Cr. Solar Manufacturing Facility to Come up in MP
Gautam Solar, a module manufacturing company, is planning a major manufacturing expansion in Madhya Pradesh. Speaking with CableCommunity, Mr Salman Gazi, Technical Marketing Executive at Gautam Solar, said the company is investing Rs. 4,000 crore to develop a new 5 GW solar manufacturing facility at the Malanpur Industrial Area near Gwalior.
The plant is being developed in phases, with the first phase focused on establishing a 2 GW solar cell manufacturing facility. Once the first phase is completed, the company plans to launch its Initial Public Offering (IPO) to fund the development of a 3 GW ingot and wafer manufacturing facility at the complex.
Gautam Solar already has a 5 GW module manufacturing facility in Bhiwani, Haryana. The company also operates a manufacturing facility in Haridwar, where it produces various products including solar panels, solar batteries and mounting structures.
National Switchgears & G Sons Power Transformers Announce Investments
The exhibition also brought updates from the transformer manufacturing segment. National Switchgears, a manufacturer and exporter of neutral grounding resistors, load banks, and switch disconnectors, is planning to establish a new manufacturing plant in Chennai.
Mr R. Prakash Babu, Assistant Manager at National Switchgears, told CableCommunity that the upcoming facility will mark the company’s entry into transformer manufacturing. In addition to transformers, the plant will also manufacture capacitors.
In addition to the upcoming facility in Chennai, the company already has a manufacturing plant at Ambattur Industrial Estate in Chennai, Tamil Nadu.
G Sons Power Transformers Pvt. Ltd., a manufacturer of power and distribution transformers, also shared details of its expansion plans at the exhibition. The company discussed plans to develop a new plant for a new high-tension panel range. G Sons Power Transformers currently manufactures its products at its facility in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, with its portfolio including low-tension panels and automated control systems.
Speaking with CableCommunity, Mr Shreyas G. Nambiar, Director of G Sons Power Transformers, said that the location for the plant has not yet been finalised, although Gujarat is being considered. Mr Nambiar added that the company serves customers across sectors including semiconductors, infrastructure and renewable energy.
Coal India to Invest Rs. 50,000 Cr. for Coal Gasification Projects
Coal India Limited, an Indian state-owned coal mining company, was also present at the expo, where it shared details of its upcoming developments with CableCommunity.
Mr Bhanu Prakash, Assistant Manager at Coal India, said the company is collaborating with GAIL (India) on coal gasification projects, with an investment of Rs. 50,000 crore allocated for the initiative.
Earlier in 2024, Coal India signed an agreement with GAIL for development of a Coal Gasification plant in Raniganj, West Bengal. This plant is being developed with a total investment of Rs. 13,052 crore.
POWERGEN India 2026 Reflects a Changing Power Sector
The developments shared at POWERGEN India 2026 showed that the exhibition was not only about displaying existing products. New launches, manufacturing expansions and technologies targeted at improving efficiency and sustainability were also part of the discussions.
From diesel generators and electrical panels to emission-control devices, microturbines, robotic solar panel cleaning systems and new solar and transformer manufacturing facilities, the exhibition brought together a mix of technologies.
Conversations with exhibitors also pointed to strong visitor footfall during the three-day event.
