Coal India Floats EPC Tender for Developing 3 GW of Solar Projects
Coal India Limited, the state-owned coal mining and refining company, has floated a tender for establishing a total of 3 GW of grid-connected solar power projects in India. As per the tender, bidders can bid for developing solar projects with a minimum generation capacity of 200 MW, and a maximum of 3,000 MW.
According to the company’s tender details, successful bidders can develop solar projects anywhere in India, although the states of Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Rajasthan, and Madhya Pradesh have been mentioned as tentative locations for the projects. These tentative locations have been suggested since Coal India seeks to set up these solar projects in areas of substantial solar power generation potential and existing solar power transmission infrastructure (inter-state as well as within state).
Scope of work under this tender includes turnkey EPC works for the solar plants to be established, including the supply of modules as well as the Balance of Plant (BoP) works. Successful bidders will therefore engage in designing, engineering, and supplying of these solar projects. This tender’s scope also includes testing and commissioning of the solar power plants. Operation & Maintenance (O&M) services for the solar power projects are also specified in this tender’s scope.
Last date for submission of bids is 16th September 2025.
