Wire India 2022: Suppliers Get Enthralling Response
Wire India, a sub show of Wire Düsseldorf, was held from 23rd to 25th November 2022 at Bombay Exhibition Centre (BEC), Mumbai. Messe Düsseldorf India Pvt. Ltd., the Indian subsidiary of Germany-based Messe Düsseldorf GmbH, organised this event with the support of Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India.
Some of the major Indian steel companies such as Tata Steel, Jindal Steel & Power Ltd. (JSPL) and JSW Steel participated in Wire India 2022. The event was inaugurated by the MD of Kolkata Based steel and aluminium products company Group Nirmal, Mr. Nirmal Saraf.
Wire India 2022 was co-staged at the BEC with three other events, namely Tube India, METEC India, and India Essen Welding & Cutting (IEWC). While Tube India 2022 showcased companies from the tube and pipe industry, METEC India is an important regional event for the metals industry in Maharashtra. IEWC is a notable B2B expo in South Asia for welding processes, automation, surfacing and robotics.
Major Event for Wire & Cable Industry Manufacturers and Suppliers
Wire India 2022 was the first major post-CoVID expo covering the entire supply chain of the wire and cable industry represented through manufacturers and distributors of finished products, intermediaries and process machinery. As a result, most exhibitors were met with an enthusiastic response from the visitors.
Wire India 2022 Showcased Leading Cable and Wire Machinery Suppliers
Some of the major cable machinery suppliers at Wire India 2022 included Assomac Machines Ltd., Cab Device Industries, Sarvasv Machinery & Equipments Pvt. Ltd. and Supermac Industries (India) Ltd.
Speaking about the response at the event, Mr. M.L. Chhabra, MD, Cab Device Industries, said that the company received visitors from most Indian states. Cab Device Industries showcased its improved Copper wire Annealing Machine at Wire India 2022 in addition to its existing machines.
Mr. Krishan Kumar Tomer, MD of Tomer Machines, stated that several potential customers visited the company stall with good inquiries. The company showcased its existing products, as well as its improved, sound-less Timing Belt Machine which is an intermediate machine used in wire drawing, and Rod Break Down (RBD) machine.
Extruders and Cable Die Machine Suppliers at Wire India 2022
This section of exhibitors included names like Ajex & Turner, Deeba Dies & Tools, Paramount Die Company, and Sai Extrumech Pvt Ltd.
Mr. Vivek Mehta, Managing Director, Sai Extrumech Pvt. Ltd. mentioned to CableCommunity.com that they received quality footfall at Wire India 2022. Mr. Mehta stated that the company showcased new products at Wire India 2022, which included 3rd generation cross heads, and co-rotating twin screw extruder for compounding.
Speaking to CableCommunity.com, Mr. Charan Dagar, MD of Protomac Extrusion Pvt. Ltd. (Durga Engineering Works), stated that the company received about 480 inquiries at the expo. The company showcased its cross heads and a building wire machine of 800 metre/minute capacity. The company’s machinery related to High Tension (HT) cables, rubber cables, solar cables and Medium Voltage Cover Conductor (MVCC) were also displayed at the exhibition. Mr. Dagar elaborated that these machines offer high efficiency with a low change-over time and less scrap generation.
Mr. Dagar further added that post-CoVID, India has been emerging as a cable hub, gradually taking away from China’s market share. He supported this statement by mentioning that as of now about 15 Indian cable manufacturers are making cables for the US, and that there is a growing interest for Indian-made cables in Europe too.
Steel Wire Manufacturers at Wire India 2022
The event saw participation of several wire manufacturers whose products include Stainless Steel (SS) wires, High Carbon steel wires, Galvanised Iron (GI) wires, etc. Bajrang Wire Products (I) Pvt. Ltd., Bansal Wire Industries Limited, Geekay Wires Ltd., Nirmal Wires (Group Nirmal) and KEI Industries were some steel wire manufacturing companies that participated in the event.
Mr. Himanshu Gupta, Director, Vaishno Wire Industries, mentioned that the company’s stall had an average footfall on the first day, which improved during the following days of the event.
Though most participants expressed their faith in the wire industry, Mr. Dilip Dev, CMD, HD Wire Pvt. Ltd., said that the industry is not doing very well on account of volatility in raw material prices. Speaking about his company, he stated that HD Wire had invested in High Thermal Steel Spring wires and Automobile wires before the pandemic, and they got the opportunity to display these products at Wire India 2022.
Polymer, Lubricant and Insulation Tape Suppliers at Wire India 2022
Bihani Manufacturing, 3R Polymers Pvt. Ltd., DDev Plastiks Industries Limited, Dhingra Polymers Pvt Ltd., KLJ Plasticizers Ltd. were some of the polymer manufacturers who participated at the Wire India 2022 exhibition.
Insulation tapes supplier, SRV International, was also one of the exhibitors at Wire India 2022.
Kemtree International LLP, Lubrimetal India Pvt. Ltd. were amongst the lubricant suppliers who were present at the event.

Companies from 22 countries participated at this year’s show including Germany, Italy, Switzerland, Vietnam, Taiwan, China, Singapore, USA, UK, Denmark, Sweden, Canada, Turkey and Finland.
International exhibitors at the event included Switzerland’s BUSS AG and HIVOTEC AG, South Africa’s Clifford Machines & Technology, USA’s Fort Wayne Wire Die Inc., Finland’s Maillefer Extrusion Oy, UK’s International Wire & Machinery Association (IWMA) and China’s Beijing Metals & Minerals Corp.
German & Italian Pavilions at Wire India 2022
Wire India 2022 showcased two country-based pavilions, namely the German pavilion and the Italian pavilion. Fuhr Rolling Mills, Condor Compounds, Kurre Systems, Sikora and Troester were some of the companies in the German pavilion, while Marposs Aeroel, EURODRAW, Eurotek and Newtech were some companies in the Italian pavilion.
