Tata Group’s Nova to Open Defence Manufacturing Facility in Hyderabad

Nova Integrated Systems Ltd. (NISL), a subsidiary of Tata Advanced Systems Ltd. conducted the groundbreaking ceremony for state-of-the-art manufacturing facility near Hyderabad in Telangana on 12th March 2020. The up-coming facility is located in Telangana State Industrial Infrastructure Corporation Ltd. (TSIIC) – Industrial Park near Hyderabad. Phase-I is scheduled to be completed in a time-frame of six to eight months.
This facility shall be design, development and production hub for DRDO and Indian Armed Forces for five new defence projects which include mobile command and controls, mobile VSAT communication shelter, radar and microwave component manufacturing, electro-optics and electronics manufacturing. It shall also have R&D and prototyping facilities. This facility is expected to create direct employment for 600 people.

Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony, K.T. Rama Rao, Minister for Industries & Commerce, Telangana, said “… We are glad that you chose Hyderabad to host over 90 per cent of TASL Aerospace manufacturing and continue to further invest in our ecosystem.” He also mentioned about TATA group’s contribution in bringing Global original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) such as Sikorsky, Lockheed Martin, Boeing and GE Aviation to Hyderabad. He said, “The projects have been instrumental in making Hyderabad a preferred destination for global OEMs for Make in India Aerospace and Defence.”
