Mahanadi Coalfields to invest 12,000 Cr. in setting up 1,600 MW Power Plant

Mahanadi Coalfields Ltd. (MCL), a Miniratna Public Sector Undertaking (PSU) and a subsidiary of Coal India Ltd. (CIL), will be investing about Rs. 12,000 crore in setting up a 1,600 MW coal-fired power plant in Odisha. This information was given by Mr. O.P Singh, Chairman and Managing Director of MCL while talking to the press in Sambalpur, Odisha.

MCL has applied for coal linkages for this upcoming power plant, and the government is expected to assign the source of coal for the power plant in due time.
