L&T gets HPCL Order of over Rs 7,000 Cr for Vizag Refinery

Larsen & Toubro (L&T) an Indian multinational operating in 30 countries has been awarded a mega* project by Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL). The project has been won by Larsen & Toubro’s wholly-owned subsidiary L&T Hydrocarbon Engineering (LTHE) for implementing Residue Up-gradation Facility (RUF) at Vizag refinery, under Visakh Refinery Modernisation Project (VRMP).
LTHE has bagged the order through international competitive bidding on Lump Sum Turn Key (LSTK) basis. The scope of work covers engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning (EPCC) for setting up a residue up-gradation facility at the refinery.

RUF facility is licensed by Chevron Lummus Global with a capacity of 3.55 million tonnes per annum. This facility shall convert the heaviest oils into high-quality Euro 6 diesel and increase feedstock and product flexibility.
LTHE is already executing two packages (Crude Distillation Unit / Vacuum Distillation Unit and Full Conversion Hydrocracker Unit) for ongoing VRMP.

Bagging this contract from HPCL reinforces our integrated capabilities in executing critical plants for the sector.”
