L&T, KEC-Vijay Nirman Company JV are L1 Bidders for Chennai Metro Rail Track Projects
Larsen & Toubro, and KEC-Vijay Nirman Company joint venture have emerged as L1 bidders for two ballast-less track contracts under Chennai Metro’s Phase 2.
L&T is the lowest bidder for the track work contract of Corridor 3 of Chennai Metro Rail‘s Phase 2, which has an estimated cost of Rs. 267 crore. This 45.813 Km line connects Madhavaram Milk Colony to Sholinganallur Station. This track laying project has a completion period of 1,290 days, and a Defect Liability Period (DLP) of 730 days.
KEC-Vijay Nirman Company JV has emerged as the lowest bidder for track work on Chennai Metro Rail’s Phase 2 Corridor 5, which is a 47 Km line connecting Madhavaram Milk Colony to CMBT Station. The estimated cost of this project is Rs. 194 crore. The completion period for this project is 1,006 days with a DLP of 730 days.
Scope of work in these contracts entails supply and installation, and the ensuing testing and commission of ballast-less standard gauge tracks for Chennai Metro’s Phase 2 Corridor 3 and Corridor 5 respectively. The scope also includes all associated works with regard to track laying on these lines.
