Bangalore Metro Rail Corp. Invites Bids for Remodelling Baiyappanahalli Depot
Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation (BMRC) invited bids for the remodelling of Baiyappanahalli Depot on 22nd August 2022. The estimated cost of this project is Rs. 266.21 crore.
Baiyappanahalli Depot is in Phase-2A (Outer Ring Road line) of Bangalore Metro, and it will be repurposed to cater to the train maintenance needs of Bangalore Metro’s 57 Km long Blue Line.
Currently the depot comprises 16 stabling bay lines (SBL), 3 inspection bay lines (IBL) and 4 repair bay lines (RBL). This remodel will increase the number of SBLs to 42, and could possibly add a new level to the depot.
Last date for the submission of bids is 7th October 2022, and the project has a completion period of 821 days. This project is being financed by Asian Development Bank, which had approved a $500 million (about Rs. 3,680 crore) for Phases 2A and 2B of the Bangalore Metro in December 2020.
