Ather Energy to Set Up 1,000 Fast-Charging Stations Across Karnataka

Ather Energy, an electric scooter manufacturer, has signed an MoU with ESCOMs (Electric Supply Companies), state-owned discom of the Indian state of Karnataka. The MoU was signed in presence of Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai on 3rd February 2022 for setting up 1,000 fast-charging stations across the state.

As per a release by Karnataka government “The ESCOMs would be the nodal agency to provide all technical support and government agencies would coordinate with them to share their available spaces for the charging stations”.

In the next three years, Ather plans to install 5,000 fast chargers across India, and the MoU with the Karnataka Government is the first step towards the goal.

Last month, Ather energy received an investment of ₹ 420 Cr from Hero Motocorp.
