Adani Energy Secures Rs. 4,700 Cr Transmission Project in Maharashtra

Adani Energy Solutions Ltd. (AESL) has won a transmission project valued at Rs. 4,700 crore in Maharashtra. The company won this project, namely, “Network Expansion Scheme in Western Region to Cater to Pumped Storage Potential near Satara (up to 4500 MW) – Part A” via the Tariff-Based Competitive Bidding (TBCB) route.

Under this project, AESL will establish a 765/400 KV substation at Satara and lay a 765 KV double-circuit Kolhapur-Satara transmission line. Additionally, AESL will also strengthen the Kolhapur pooling station and related transmission infrastructure.

The company incorporated a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV), Satara Power Transmission Ltd., for execution of this transmission project. This project is expected to be completed within 36 months.

AESL, in its press release, said that this project is for evacuation of renewable energy generated in Karnataka to major load cities in Maharashtra. Furthermore, this project will facilitate evacuation from upcoming pumped storage projects being developed in Satara, Pune, and Mumbai Metropolitan Region.
