TARIL Wins Transformer & Shunt Reactor Order from GETCO

Transformers and Rectifiers (India) Limited (TARIL) has received a transformer order from Gujarat Energy Transmission Corporation Limited (GETCO). This order is valued between Rs. 100 to 500 crore.

Under this order, TARIL will undertake manufacturing and supply of 80 Megavolt-Amperes Reactive (MVAR), 125 MVAR Shunt Reactors* and 500MVA auto transformers. The company will execute all associated ancillary works.

*A shunt reactor absorbs reactive power, regulates voltage levels, and counteracts the voltage rise caused by long, lightly loaded transmission lines.

Order delivery is slated within 24 to 30 months and will be executed in adherence to conditions stipulated in Letter of Award (LOA).

In addition to this latest win, TARIL recently won an order from Damodar Valley Corporation to manufacture and supply 500MVA and 200MVA auto transformers. Earlier in September, TARIL won its first order for the Nuclear Power sector from Megha Engineering & Infrastructures Limited (MEIL) for supply of generator transformers.
