NLC India Renewables Wins BESS Project from SJVN
NLC India Renewables Limited (NIRL), a wholly-owned subsidiary of NLC India Limited, has received Letter of Award (LoA) for setting up a 265 MW/530 MWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) in Haryana. The company has won this project through Tariff-Based Competitive Bidding (TBCB).
SJVN floated a tender for this project in July 2026 with a value of Rs. 636 crore.
The total capacity of the project will be divided into two separate parts: 250 MW / 500 MWh and 15 MW / 30 MWh. This project will be connected to the designated bay at the 220 KV Haryana Power Generation Corporation Limited substation which is located within the premises of the 710 MW Panipat Thermal Power Station (PTPS).
The project will provide on-demand battery storage capacity to Uttar Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam Limited (UHBVNL) at a tariff rate of Rs. 2.35 lakh per MW per month.
