HFCL Wins USD 244 Million Optical Fibre Cable Supply Contract

HFCL Limited, a major manufacturer of Optical Fibre Cables (OFCs), has secured a contract worth USD 244 million (approximately Rs. 2,329 crore) for the supply of optical fibre cables. According to the company’s press release dated 1st September 2026, HFCL has signed an agreement with a ‘global multinational corporation’ for the order.

HFCL secured the contract through its wholly-owned overseas subsidiary.

Under the agreement, HFCL will manufacture and supply multiple million fibre kilometres of ‘high-quality, high-fibre-count’ optical fibre cables to the customer. The cables will be manufactured according to the customer’s specifications and supplied annually from Calendar Year (CY) 2027 to CY 2029.

The contract is expected to be executed by December 2029.

Apart from this major order win, HFCL is also expanding its Optical Fibre and Optical Fibre Cable manufacturing capacities with a capital expenditure of Rs. 400 crore. The planned investment will increase the company’s Optical Fibre manufacturing capacity to 33.9 million fibre kilometres per annum and its Optical Fibre Cable capacity to 42.36 million fibre kilometres per annum.
