TARIL Wins ‘Large’ Scale Order for Transformers
Transformers and Rectifiers (India) Ltd. (TARIL) has secured a ‘Large’ scale order for the supply of transformers, valued between Rs. 100 crore and Rs. 500 crore. The company has received a Letter of Intent (LOI) for the order from Transmission Corporation of Andhra Pradesh Limited (APTRANSCO).
TARIL’s Scope of Work and Project Execution Details
Scope of work under the order includes the manufacturing and supply of transformers, along with the execution of other associated works. According to the company, the order will be executed ‘in accordance with the terms and conditions stipulated in LoI’.
TARIL is expected to execute the order within the next 13 months.
Transformers and Rectifiers’ Other Recent Order Wins
Apart from the aforementioned order, TARIL earlier secured a transformer supply order from Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (PGCIL) in July 2026, valued at Rs. 1,000 crore and above.
In May 2026, the company won orders collectively valued at Rs. 403.26 crore for manufacturing and supplying of transformers and reactors. These orders were received from Gujarat Energy Transmission Corporation Limited (GETCO) and Bhanwariya Infra Projects Private Limited.
TARIL’s Ongoing Capacity Expansion and Raw Material Integration
During its earnings call for Q1 FY27, TARIL outlined several expansion plans for its existing manufacturing facilities.
At its Changodar facility, the company is undertaking a 15,000 MVA transformer capacity expansion, which is expected to be completed by Q2 FY27. Further, the Moraiya plant will undergo a capacity expansion of approximately 22,000 MVA, with completion projected by Q3 FY27.
Alongside expanding its transformer manufacturing capacity, TARIL is investing Rs. 900 crore to Rs. 1,000 crore to develop an in-house raw material ecosystem. Upon completion, these facilities are expected to cater to 80% to 85% of the company’s raw material requirements, helping improve margins and strengthen supply chain control.
The planned facilities include a Continuously Transposed Conductor (CTC) facility, pressboard and insulation facility, RIP bushings facility, fabrication facility, and CRGO processing facility.
