Jigar Cables to Set Up New Cable Manufacturing Facility in Gujarat
Jigar Cables Limited will be developing a greenfield cable manufacturing facility at Gomta in the Rajkot district of Gujarat. The development of this new plant has been approved by the company’s Board of Directors.
According to this development, the company will be able to manufacture Medium Voltage Control Cables (MVCC), High Tension (HT) cables, and Power & Control Cables (PCC). This upcoming facility will have a total manufacturing capacity of approximately 500 Km per month. Commercial production at this new unit is expected to begin within the next one to three months.
The company stated in its stock exchange filing that the establishment of this new manufacturing facility is targeted at strengthening Jigar Cables’ overall manufacturing capabilities and expanding its product portfolio.
In addition to the upcoming manufacturing plant in Gujarat, Jigar Cables currently operates a production facility at Gondal, also located in the Rajkot district. This plant has an installed capacity of approximately 6.25 lakh Km per annum. Jigar Cables’ plant in Gondal manufactures power and control cables, house wires/building wires, flat cables for submersible pumps, and aerial bunched cables (ABC) under the brand name “SIGMA”. Interestingly, the company sources its major raw materials, including copper and aluminium coils, from Ultracab (India) Ltd.
