L&T Wins Rs. 1,000–2,500 Cr Order for Electrification Works on Mumbai Metro Line 4 & 4A
Larsen & Toubro Ltd.’s (L&T) Transportation Infrastructure business vertical has won an order worth Rs. 1,000–2,500 crore for the Mumbai Metro railway project. The order has been awarded by the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA).
This order involves electrification works for the 24.72 Km-long Metro Line 4, which will run from Bhakti Park (Wadala) to Cadbury Junction and include 22 elevated stations. As part of the scope, L&T will also undertake electrical and mechanical works, including the installation of lifts and escalators, for these 22 elevated stations and two depots. Additionally, the company will provide comprehensive maintenance for a period of five years.
The contract also covers overall design, manufacturing, supply, installation, integration, testing, and commissioning of power supply and traction systems for the 24.72 Km route of Metro Line 4.
Further, the order entails the provision of a Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system for both Metro Line 4 and 4A, which together comprise 32 stations. The SCADA system will also be implemented at the depots and receiving substations.
Entire project will be executed by L&T’s in-house design and execution team. This project will bring Mumbai Metro Lines 4 and 4A a step closer to completion.
