KEI Industries Starts Trial Production at Sanand Plant
KEI Industries Ltd., a major Indian EPC player and cable manufacturer, has started trial production at its greenfield Sanand plant. This information was shared by the company via a stock filing dated 1st December 2025.
Aforementioned update pertains to phase-1 of KEI’s Sanand cables plant. In this phase, KEI will be manufacturing LT and HT cables. “Muhurat Puja and commercial production at the said new unit is expected by December 10, 2025”, reads KEI’s filing.
KEI began construction work on phase-1 of its Sanand plant in March 2024, and it was initially planned to be commissioned during Q1 if FY26. However, this was then first pushed to September 2025, and now this phase of the plant will begin commercial production in December 2025.
KEI’s Sanand plant will be its largest single-location plant. Spread over 78 acres, this plant will produce LT, HT and EHV cables. EHV cable production will be addressed in phase-2 of the plant. A total of Rs. 1,700 crore to 1,800 crore is being invested by KEI to set up this plant (both phases taken together). The company expects to increase its cables segment revenue by about Rs. 5,500 crore to Rs. 6,000 crore once Sanand plant is fully commissioned. Out of this, KEI expects EHV cables to add Rs. 1,200 crore to Rs. 1,300 crore from EHV cables sales, about Rs. 1,500 crore from the sales of HT cables, and the remaining amount from LT cable sales.
