BHEL Wins Rs. 6,500 Cr. Thermal Power Order from Adani Power

Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) has received a Letter of Award (LoA) from Adani Power Ltd. (APL) for developing six thermal power units in India. This information was shared by Bharat Heavy Electricals in its stock filing dated 27th June 2025.

This order has been valued at about Rs. 6,500 crore.
BHEL’s Scope of Work for Adani Power’s Thermal Power Units
As per the newly secured order from Adani Power, BHEL will be setting six thermal power plants of 800 MW each in India. However, the company did not specify the location/locations for the development of these thermal power units.
BHEL’s scope of work includes supplying of steam turbine generators along with its related auxiliaries for the development of these six thermal power units. The company will also supervise erection & commissioning of these thermal power units.
Bharat Heavy Electricals mentioned in its stock filing that completion period of these units will be as per customer’s project requirements.
BHEL Reports Highest-Ever Yearly Order Book in FY25
As of 31st March 2025, BHEL reported a total order book value of Rs. 1,96,328 crore. Out of this, orders in the power segment contributed Rs. 1,57,922 crore, accounting for 80% of the total. The industry segment accounted for Rs. 34,826 crore. BHEL caters to various industries by supplying equipment for transportation, renewables, oil & gas, defense, aerospace, and energy storage. Further, the company’s export orders during FY25 amounted to Rs. 3,580 crore.
