HFCL FY25 Financials: Revenue Down 9%, PAT Slumps 49% YoY

HFCL Limited [BOM: 500183, NSE: HFCL], a major manufacturer of telecom equipment, optical fibre and optical fibre cables, has announced its financial results for the quarter and the year ended 31st March 2025.
HFCL’s Standalone Financial Results: Q4 FY-25 & FY-25
HFCL reported a standalone revenue of Rs. 757.19 crore and a loss of Rs. 72.59 crore during Q4 of FY25. For the entire financial year, the company earned a revenue of Rs. 3,795.22 crore and a Profit After Tax (PAT) of Rs. 194.75 crore.

HFCL’s Q4 FY25 topline showed a Year-over-Year (YoY) decrease of 39.62% to Rs. 800.72 crore, from Rs. 1,326.06 crore revenue logged during Q4 FY24. Further, the company reported a loss of Rs. 83.30 crore during Q4 of FY25 against a profit of Rs. 109.36 crore for Q4 of FY24.

Considering the full fiscal year, in FY25, HFCL generated Rs. 4,064.52 crore revenue, which is 8.97% lower than HFCL’s Rs. 4,465.05 crore revenue reported for FY24. The company’s PAT slumped by 48.67% to Rs. 173.26 crore in FY25 from Rs. 337.52 crore during FY24.
The company reported loss per share of Rs. 0.56 during Q4 of FY25 and Earnings Per Share (EPS) of Rs. 1.23 for the entire FY25.

On a Quarter-over-Quarter (QoQ) basis, the company’s revenue slipped by 20.87% from Rs. 1,011.95 crore during Q3 of FY25. Further, HFCL’s Q3 FY25 PAT stood at Rs. 72.58 crore.
HFCL’s Segment-Wise Revenue Comparison

Telecom Products: The company earned a quarterly revenue of Rs. 611.22 crore from this segment during Q4 FY25 against Rs. 362.41 crore reported during Q4 FY24. This shows a growth of 68.65% YoY.
For entire FY25, HFCL’s segmental revenue from its Telecom Products business stood at Rs. 2,474.56 crore, which is up by 32.86% from Rs. 1,862.48 crore revenue earned from this segment during FY24.
Turnkey Contracts and Solutions: HFCL’s Turnkey Contracts and Services business vertical earned the company a revenue of Rs. 189.50 crore during Q4 of FY25 as compared to Rs. 963.65 crore in Q4 of FY24. Therefore, there has been a massive YoY decrease of 80.34% in Q4 revenue from this segment.
During entire financial year 2024-25, the company’s revenue from this segment decreased by 38.93% to Rs. 1,589.46 crore from Rs. 2,602.57 crore during FY24.
Others: It hasn’t been made clear by the company what exactly comprises HFCL’s ‘others’ segment. However, in Q3 of FY25, the company inaugurated its defence equipment manufacturing facility in Hosur, Tamil Nadu. Therefore it is likely that this segment comprises the company’s defence equipment offerings.
During FY25, the company reported a segmental revenue of Rs. 0.50 crore from its ‘others’ segment.
HFCL’s New Manufacturing Plants in Manesar and Hosur
HFCL mentioned in its investor presentation for FY25 financials that the company has established a new plant for manufacturing telecom and networking products in Manesar. In addition, HFCL has also set up a plant in Hosur for manufacturing of defence products.
In its FY25 investor presentation, the company also mentioned its target to expand Optical Fibre manufacturing capacity to 33.9 Million Fiber Kilometers Per Annum (mn fKm p.a) from the current capacity of 14 mn fKm p.a. HFCL will also be increasing Optical fiber Cable (OFC) manufacturing capacity to 35 mn fKm p.a from the current capacity of 25 mn fKm p.a. However, the company’s presentation did not elaborate exact plans or timeline for achieveing this target.
HFCL’s Order Book at Nearly Rs. 10,000 Crore
HFCL’s order book at the end of FY25 stood at Rs. 9,967 crore, which is 29.69% higher in terms of value from its order book at the end of FY24. Most of HFCL’s order book is formed by government orders, which amount to Rs. 8,414 crore. Private sector orders constitute the remaining Rs. 1,553 crore worth of orders in the company’s order book.
