Wire & Tube 2020 Düsseldorf Postponed to December

Wire & Tube, an International Wire & Tube trade fair which was to be held from 30th March to 3rd April 2020 in Düsseldorf , Germany has been postponed to 7th December 2020. The important biennial fair showcases new technologies, innovations and solutions for the wire, tube, pipe and cable manufacturing industry.

The fair has been postponed due to a significant increase in the number of infected persons from CoVid-19 / Corona Virus around the globe.

As per a press release of Wire &Tube fair, the decision has been made by “the recommendation of the crisis management team of the German government to take into account the principles of the Robert Koch Institute when making a risk assessment of major events.”

Werner M. Dornscheidt, CEO of Messe Düsseldorf GmbH said: “Our customers, partners and employees trust us. Not only when it comes to the professional and successful handling of major international events in Düsseldorf. They can also have this trust in us when we make decisions about critical situations in the interests of their safety”.

Thomas Geisel, Lord Mayor of the City of Düsseldorf and Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Messe Düsseldorf GmbH also commented that “This decision was not an easy one for all concerned, but the postponements at the present time are necessary for Messe Düsseldorf and its customers in view of the increasingly dynamic developments.”

The trade fair was expected to have 2,721 exhibitors from 63 countries. The major highlights of fair were on tube manufacturing machinery, raw materials, tubes and accessories, process technology tools and auxiliaries etc.

Apart from Germany’s major participation, other major participating countries were China, Italy, India, Austria, Belgium, Canada, France, Korea, Spain, Taiwan, Netherlands, Turkey, USA.

Expected Indian Participation at Wire & Tube 2020

Indian exhibitor count was expected to be 151, showcasing manufacturing machinery for metallic tubes and pipes along with accessories, testing technology, processing machinery, machinery for manufacturing of rods, wires, strips, wire and wire products.

Some of the major Indian players who were expected to participate were Aksh Optifibre Ltd, Kkalpana Industries (India) Ltd, JLC Electromet Pvt Ltd, KLJ Plasticizers Ltd, Alok Ingots (Mumbai) Pvt Ltd, Shakun Polymers Pvt Ltd, KEI Industries Ltd.
