Tata Power’s Subsidiary to Set Up Hybrid 460 MW RE Project for SJVN

Tata Power Renewable Energy Ltd. (TPREL), a subsidiary of Tata Power Company Ltd., will develop a 460 MW Firm and Dispatchable Renewable Energy (FDRE) project for SJVN. The companies have signed a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) for this project. In an FDRE plant, a Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) is integrated with the Renewable Energy (RE) power generation system, which facilitates consistent power supply to the grid.

TPREL’s FDRE project will combine solar, wind and BESS technologies. This project is expected to generate about 3,000 Million Units (MUs) of power per year and reduce about 2,200 million Kg of CO2 emissions annually.

With this project win, TPREL’s RE portfolio stands at 9,421 MW, out of which 4,906 MW of RE projects are under development, and 4,515 MW of RE projects are operational. The company’s operational RE projects comprise 3,485 MW of solar power projects and 1,030 MW of wind power projects.
