SJVN Wins 15 MW Floating Solar Project in Himachal
Satluj Jal Vidyut Nigam (SJVN) has announced in its press release dated 26th February, 2022 that it has bagged a grid-connected floating solar power project of 15 MW capacity in Himachal Pradesh’s Bilaspur district, at Nangal pond, near village Neilla.
SJVN has won this project through an e-reverse auction process conducted by the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) at a rate of Rs. 3.26 per unit on a ‘build and operate’ basis. This will be SJVN’s first floating solar project in Himachal Pradesh.
The cost of developing this project will be Rs. 100 crore, and it is expected to generate 32.85 MU (million units) of solar power in the first year of its commissioning. In 25 years, its cumulative generation will be approximately 756 MU. Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) will be signed soon between SJVN and Bhakra Beas Management Board for the power from this project. The official commissioning date of the project is set at 18 months after signing the PPA.
