SECI Floats Tender for ISTS-Connected Wind Power Projects

Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) has floated a tender for setting up Interstate Transmission System (ISTS)-connected wind power projects of 1.35 GW collective generation capacity in India. SECI’s tender includes a greenshoe option* of setting up an additional 700 MW wind power capacity.

Scope of work includes installation of wind power projects in Gujarat, Karnataka, and Rajasthan. Out of the total 1.35 GW wind power capacity, 1,000 MW will be developed in Gujarat, 250 MW will be developed in Karnataka and the remaining 100 MW will be developed in Rajasthan. As for the greenshoe option, the successful bidders can avail 500 MW greenshoe capacity in Gujarat, 150 MW in Karnataka, and 50 MW in Rajasthan.

Last date to submit bids for this tender is 10th January 2024.

*Greenshoe option allows the developer to build and sell additional power capacity at same price as the original bid if demand exceeds expectations.
