Ranjit Buildcon and Dilip Buildcon L1 Bidders for Surat Metro Phase 1 Packages

Gujarat-based Ranjit Buildcon Ltd. and Bhopal-based Dilip Buildcon Ltd. have emerged as the lowest bidders (L1 bidders) for packages CS4 and CS6 of Surat Metro Phase 1 respectively.

Ranjit Buildcon’s Package CS4 – Surat Metro Phase 1

Ranjit Buildcon placed a bid of Rs. 384.47 crore, and emerged as the lowest bidder for Surat Metro Phase 1 Package CS4. This package entails the construction of a 4.15 Km long stretch connecting Sarthana to Kapodra North Ramp through construction of a 4.15 Km elevated viaduct from the dead-end of Sarthana station to one end of the underground ramp of Kapodara station.

The stretch is a part of the 22.77 Km long Line-1 of the Surat Metro, which connects Sarthana to Dream City via 20 stations. Out of these 20 stations, the stretch covered by Package CS4 will have 4 elevated stations, namely, Sarthana, Nature Park, Varaccha Chopati Garden and Shri Swaminarayan Mandir Kalakunj. This will exclude electrical and mechanical (E&M) works, architectural finishes and roofing of the stations.

Gujarat Metro Rail Corporation (GMRC) had invited bids for this package in February 2022 with an estimated cost of Rs. 286 crore, and an undisclosed deadline.

Eight bidders had placed bids for this package, of which Ranjit Buildcon’s bid was the lowest.

Dilip Buildcon’s Project Package CS6 for Surat Metro’s Phase 1

Dilip Buildcon Ltd. has emerged as the lowest bidder by placing a bid of Rs. 702 crore for Surat Metro Phase 1’s Package CS6.

This package comprises an 8.702 Km long section of Surat Metro Phase 1’s Line 2. Package CS6 will connect Majura Gate to Saroli through 7 elevated stations. Line 2 of Surat Metro Phase 1 is 19.26 Km long and will connect Bhesan to Saroli.

Scope of work in this package includes the construction of an 8.702 Km long elevated viaduct along with 7 elevated stations at Udhna Dawaja, Kamela Darwaja, Anjana Farm, Model Town, Magob, Bharat Cancer Hospital and Saroli. The construction of these stations will not include E&M works, architectural finishes and roofing.

GMRC invited bids for this package in February 2022 with an estimated cost of Rs. 591 crore and an unknown deadline.

This Package saw 9 bidders, of which Dilip Buildcon’s bid was the lowest.

Recently, a joint venture between Ranjit Buildcon and Dilip Buildcon emerged as the L1 bidder for Package CS5 of Surat Metro Phase 1 Line 2.
