Power Mech Projects Wins Rs. 371 Cr. order from Adani Power Subsidiary

Power Mech Projects Limited has secured an order worth Rs. 370.84 crore from Mahan Energen Limited (MEL), a subsidiary of Adani Power Limited. The contract has been awarded for civil works at Mahan’s two thermal power units of 800 MW each in Singrauli, Madhya Pradesh.

Scope of work in this project includes execution of civil works and erection of prefabricated structural steel for Boiler Turbine Generator (BTG) Units 1 & 2. Additionally, the company will undertake associated works for phase-3 of the Mahan power project, covering construction of the main powerhouse, central control building, limestone handling system, and switchyard. The project is scheduled to be completed within 30 months from the date of issuance of the ‘Notice to Proceed’.

Earlier, in August 2024, BHEL had secured the order to establish two 800 MW supercritical thermal power units for Mahan Energen’s plant (Phase-3). Phase-1 of Mahan Energen’s thermal plant is functional with a capacity of 1,200 MW, whereas phases 2 & 3 of 1,600 MW each are currently under construction.

Mahan Energen Limited was formerly known as Essar Power MP Ltd., and was acquired by Adani Group in March, 2022. As of now, Adani Power owns 74% of the company whereas Reliance Industries Ltd. (RIL) had acquired 26% of Mahan Energen in July 2024.
