PGCIL Bags Two Transmission Projects Order

Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (POWERGRID), has bagged two electricity transmission projects to evacuate 8.1 GW of power from solar energy zones in Rajasthan through tariff-based competitive bidding.

PGCIL has won the projects on build, own operate, and maintain (BOOM) basis.

First project is “Transmission Systems Strengthening Scheme for the evacuation of power from Solar energy zone in Rajasthan (8.1 GW) under Phase-II Part D”. The scope of work covers establishment of 765 KV DC Transmission line and associated substation extension works in Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh.

Second Project is ”Transmission Systems Strengthening Scheme for evacuation of power from Solar Energy Zones in Rajasthan (8.1 GW) under Phase-II Part-F”. Scope of work involves establishment of a new 400/220 KV Substation, STATCOM, and substation extension works in Rajasthan and also, 400 KV DC Transmission lines traverse in Rajasthan and Haryana.
