NeuEN Wins Numaligarh Refinery Auction for Green Hydrogen Unit

NeuEN Green Energy, a 50:50 joint venture between Bharat Petroleum Corporation and Sembcorp Industries, has won Numaligarh Refinery Ltd.’s auction to set up a Green Hydrogen Unit.

As the winner of this auction, NeuEN will set up a Green Hydrogen (H2) generation unit boasting a capacity of 10,000 Million Metric Tonnes Per Annum (MMTPA). Green H2 generated from this unit will be supplied to the Numaligarh Refinery in Assam at Rs. 279/Kg. This unit will be set up on a build-own-operate basis.

Scope of Work entails design, engineering, and construction of the Green H2 unit. Furthermore, all civil, mechanical, structural, electrical, and instrumentation facilities, along with testing and commissioning of this Green Hydrogen unit, will be handled by NeuEN. Also, NeuEN Green Energy will provide Operation and maintenance (O&M) for a period of 25 years for this unit.

Coming to the Green H2 generation process, the company will produce it by electrolyzing water via renewable energy or processing biomass. With the nation focusing on energy transition and decarbonization, Green H2 is a viable option in achieving these goals.
