National Hydrogen Mission Launched on India’s 75th Independence Day
On 15th August 2021, Prime Minister Narendra Modi formally announced the launch of the National Hydrogen Mission (NHM) with the aim to generate Carbon-free fuel from renewable sources.
National Hydrogen Mission was first announced in February 2021 in Union Budget for 2021-22. The Hydrogen Mission draws up a road map for using Hydrogen as an energy source and for generating Hydrogen from green power sources like solar, wind, and other renewable sources.
NHM is also in line with India’s target of achieving 450 GW of renewable energy capacity by 2030.
