Motwane Announces Acquisition of Cable Testing Company Telemetrics
Motwane, manufacturer of electrical test and measurement equipment has announced acquisition of Telemetrics, a manufacturer of specialized underground cable fault locating equipment.
Telemetrics Product Range to Add Value to Motwane’s Portfolio
In 1967 Motwane established manufacturing of electrical test and measurement instruments like multimeters, ohmeters, earth testers, insulation testers etc. It has recently launched in-house developed SaaS based test data platform (MOT-WARE) for IoT connected testing devices. With this acquisition of Telemetrics, Motwane can now extend its MOT-WARE IoT offerings for cable fault location devices too.

Growth of Cable Fault Location and Telemetrics’ Offerings
Telemetrics offers cable fault locating solutions for both overground and underground cables. However, these solutions are more helpful for undergorund cables as they are not physically accessible. With several smart cities and large infrastructure projects coming up in different parts of India, underground cable laying for electrical transmission is also increasing. This widespread, and growing underground and overground cable network needs regular testing and fault location as part of operation and maintenance exercise.
Telemetrics product range includes Sheath Fault Testers, Surge Tester, Cable Route Tracers, Trolley mounted system for fault location in LT and HT cables etc.
