Major Civil Works on Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut RRTS Corridor

Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) corridor is the first RRTS corridor to be implemented in India. Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut RRTS corridor is 82.15 Km long, under-construction, semi-high speed rail corridor connecting Delhi, Ghaziabad and Meerut.

It is one of the three rapid-rail corridors planned under Phase-I of RRTS projects by National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC). With this corridor distance between Delhi and Meerut will be covered in less than 60 minutes. The entire 82.15 Km Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut RRTS corridor is likely to be operational by 2025. The estimated cost of this corridor is ₹ 30,274 crores.

Major Civil Contracts Issued by NCRTC for Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut RRTS

Civil Tunnel Work on NCRTC RRTS

In March 2019, NCRCTC had awarded a contract worth ₹ 605.56 crore to APCO Infratech Private Limited and China Railway First Group Company Limited (CRFG) JV for building a 10.3 Km viaduct from Ghaziabad Station to Duhai Eastern Peripheral Expressway (EPE) crossing, with 2 elevated stations at Guldhar and Duhai.

In October 2020, construction of elevated viaduct from Sarai Kale Khan station to New Ashok Nagar including Jangpura and two number of elevated stations had been awarded to Afcons Infrastructure Limited. Value of the order was ₹ 1061.70 crore. Then again in November 2020, NCRTC had awarded a contract worth ₹ 1,529.10 crore to Afcons Infrastructure Limited for design and construction of tunnels by Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM) from Brahampuri DN Ramp to Begumpul UP Ramp and 3 underground station.

On 9th December 2020, NCRTC had awarded a contract worth ₹ 1126.8 crore for design and construction of tunnels near New Ashok Nagar to Sahibabad and one underground Station at Anand Vihar to Shanghai Tunnel Engineering Co. Ltd. (STEC).

China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation – KEC International (CCECC – KEC) JV has been awarded civil construction contract worth ₹ 579.76, which includes to building a 7.3 Km viaduct, from Sahibabad Ramp to Ghaziabad Station, with two elevated stations at Sahibabad and Ghaziabad in August 2019.

Civil Work on NCRTC's Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut RRTS

In March 2020, Larsen & Toubro had been awarded ₹ 1,797 crore contract, which includes elevated viaduct from Duhai to start of Modi Nagar North and 2 elevated stations viz. Murad Nagar & Modi Nagar South and elevated viaduct from start of Modi Nagar North Station to Shatabdi Nagar Station and 5 elevated stations viz. Modi Nagar North, Meerut South, Partapur, Rithani & Shatabdi Nagar.  Again In November 2020, Larsen & Toubro was awarded another contract worth ₹ 723.34 crore for construction of elevated viaduct from end of Shatabdi Nagar Station to Brahmpuri DN Ramp and from Begumpul UP Ramp to Modipuram end including Modipuram Depot entry Ramp and 5 elevated stations.

In October 2020, contract worth ₹ 68.35 crore for design, fabrication, supply and erection of pre-engineered Steel roof structure of 4 elevated stations was awarded to Sam (India) Builtwell Pvt. Ltd.
