L&T Infrastructure Engineering Secures Navi Mumbai Airport’s Detailed Design Consultancy Order
Larsen & Toubro (L&T) Infrastructure Engineering has secured the contract for Detailed Design Consultancy (DDC) for Navi Mumbai Airport Phase – 1 project.
L&T’s scope of work as per this detailed design consultancy award pertains to Southern Runway of 3,700 m length; parallel taxiway system of approximately five lakh sq m; apron area of around 4.3 lakh sq m including the Terminal, Cargo and General Aviation aircraft stands and associated Taxi lanes; Airfield Ground Lighting of Category-II; other airside infrastructure including drainage and airside roads and landside infrastructure including approach roads and ramps and other related infrastructure. The Southern Runway will be under code 4F as per the classification by International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO). This means that this runway can be used by aircrafts with a wingspan of up to 80 metres.
Contract value and duration have not been disclosed.
Once fully operational, the Navi Mumbai Airport will be able to handle 60 million passengers annually. The airport is being developed by Navi Mumbai International Airport Ltd. (NMIAL), a subsidiary of Adani Enterprises Ltd. (AEL) in four phases.
