Jyoti Structures Commissions 400 KV Transmission Line for ReNew Power
Jyoti Structures Ltd. has recently informed that the company has completed and commissioned its 400 KV Gadag–II Transmission Line Project in Karnataka. This project is part of the Interstate transmission scheme
As per the press release dated 4th March 2026, the company commissioned this transmission line for ReNew Power. This project consists of 100 Circuit Kilometers (CKM) of twin High-Temperature Low-Sag (HTLS) transmission line.
Further, this transmission line between Gadag and Koppal Pooling Stations faced certain challanges as they had to secure legal permissions to cross private lands in the districts of Koppal and Gadag. Also, navigating through difficult terrain that has Black Cotton soil* resulting in no easy road access and stable foundations was a hurdle to overcome for completion of Gadag–II Transmission Line Project.
*Black Cotton Soil is characterized by high swelling when wet and excessive shrinkage when dry. This changing movement in soil causes difficulty during construction.
Additionally, Gadag–II Transmission Line will help evacuate power from renewable energy sources in the Koppa Solar Energy Zone (1500 MW) and connect it to national grid. Consequently, this transmission line will support India in reaching its energy transition goals, i.e., 500 GW of non-fossil capacity by 2030.
