Jupiter Wagons to Set Up New Plant for Vande Bharat Trainsets

Jupiter Wagons Limited, an Indian manufacturer of railway freight wagons, passenger coaches, and wagon components, has announced plans to set up a new manufacturing plant in Hooghly, West Bengal.

The upcoming facility will manufacture Vande Bharat trainsets and metro coaches. However, the company has not disclosed the exact location of the plant or the planned investment.

Mr. M.L. Lohia, Chairman of Jupiter Wagons, said that the new plant is one of several new projects in the company’s pipeline as it targets to increase its revenue from the current Rs. 3,000 crore to Rs. 5,000 crore in FY28 and Rs. 10,000 crore in FY29.

Once operational, the facility will become West Bengal’s second railway rolling stock manufacturing plant after Titagarh Rail Systems’ Uttarpara plant.
