IEEMA Appoints New President & Vice President for 2025-26
Mr. Vikram Gandotra, Director (Industry & Policy) at Siemens, has assumed the role of President at Indian Electrical and Electronics Manufacturers’ Association (IEEMA) for the 2025–26 term. Apart from the appointment of IEEMA’s new President, Mr. Shashi Amin, CEO (Cable Solution) of Apar industries has been appointed as the new Vice President of IEEMA.
Mr. Gandotra completed BE in Electrical Engineering from Delhi College of Engineering in 1986. He then completed a course in Project Management from Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Bangalore. Mr. Gandotra joined Siemens in 1987 as its Head Utility Sales & Strategy and became a Director of the company in October 2024. By becoming IEEMA’s new President, he has succeeded Mr. Sunil Singhvi, Group Head Public Policy, Secure Meters, who served as IEEMA’s President during 2024-25. Talking about his vision in the new role, Mr. Gandotra said, “My focus will be on working together to boost our global competitiveness, promote innovation, and achieve sustainable growth. We will continue to strengthen our focus on policy advocacy and effective government engagements”. He added that IEEMA will continue its efforts to expand its international outreach, which would involve working towards the establishment of a trade facilitation centre. These measures, as per Mr. Gandotra, will help the Indian electrical industry to expand in new global markets.
Mr. Shashi Amin, newly appointed Vice-Chairman of IEEMA, has completed graduation in Electrical Engineering from Shri Sant Gajanan Maharaj College Of Engineering in 1988. He then completed Masters in Marketing Management from Welingkar Institute of Management, Noida in 1993. In his career of over 36 years, he worked the longest with Polycab India, which he joined in 1996 as General Manager. Following this, he joined Apar Industries as its CEO for Cable Solutions in April 2022. About his appointment as IEEMA’s new VP, Mr. Amin expressed, “This year, my primary objective will be to enhance IEEMA’s B2B Connects and to expand ELECRAMA into an even more significant platform”.
