Hitachi Energy India Wins Transformers Supply Order from PGCIL

Hitachi Energy India Limited has received an order for supplying transformers to Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (PGCIL). Hitachi India announced this order win in its stock filing dated 26th June 2025. However, the company did not specify the value of this order.

Scope of work in this order involves supplying 30 units of 765 KV single-phase transformers to Power Grid Corporation. Each of these transformers will have a rated capacity of 500 MVA. These transformers will be manufactured at Hitachi Energy India’s power transformer factory at Maneja, near Vadodara in Gujarat.

After winning this order, the company’s share price jumped by 2.57%. On the day of winning this order, Hitachi Energy India’s share price stood at Rs. 19,441 apiece against Rs. 19,942 per share on the next trading day.

In its stock filing, Hitachi Energy highlighted that utilities in India are now shifting their focus on long-term strategies and planning accordingly instead of focusing on short-term goals. Mr. N. Venu, Managing Director & CEO of Hitachi Energy India, explained that this approach by the utilities helps technology providers such as Hitachi Energy India in smooth CapEx and supply chain planning, and timely deliveries.
