Greenko to Develop 5,230 MW RE Storage Project with US$ 3 Billion Investment
Hyderabad-based Greenko Group announced setting up a 5,230 MW Renewable Energy (RE) storage project with an investment of USD 3 billion in Kurnool, Andhra Pradesh. This facility will be the World’s largest renewable energy storage plant as per the company.
Out of the 5,230 MW storage capacity, 3,000 MW would be solar, 550 MW wind power and 1,680 MW would hydropower storage capacity for 6 hours. This project is expected to be commissioned by 2023.
Steelmaker ArcelorMittal has also invested about US$ 600 million in this project for setting up 1,000 MW capacity from the aforementioned 3,000 MW solar energy storage capacity.
