Gammon gets 1,248 Cr. Order from Lanco Teesta Hydro Power
Gammon Engineers and Contractors Pvt. Ltd. has been awarded civil works order worth Rs 1,248.44 crore by Lanco Teesta Hydro Power Ltd. (LTHPL), a subsidiary of NHPC Ltd. The awarded work is under Lot-II package of balance civil works for 500 MW Teesta-VI hydroelectric project in Sikkim.
Package includes civil works for underground power house and transformer cavern, part of Head Race Tunnel-I (HRT) and HRT-II, surge shafts, pressure shafts and adits (horizontal water tunnel inspection points), Tail Race Tunnel (TRT) and other associated structures.
The 500 MW Teesta-VI hydroelectric project was earlier being implemented by Lanco group. NHPC acquired the project through the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) after approval of the resolution plan of NHPC on 26 July 2019 for the debt-ridden LTHPL.
