Emmvee Group to Set-up Rs. 15,000 Cr. Solar Module Plant in Karnataka

Emmvee Group, a Bengaluru-based PV module manufacturer, will be investing Rs. 15,000 crore for setting up a solar module manufacturing plant in Karnataka. The company will make this investment in different phases. Emmvee Group has also signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the development of this plant with Karnataka Govt. during Global Investors Meet.

In the first phase of development, the company will invest Rs. 5,000 crore with a capacity of manufacturing 5 GW of solar modules every year. This development will generate 10,000 job opportunities.

However, the company has not specified any information about any other phases of its upcoming plant.

The company has also requested 120 acres of land in the Bengaluru IT Investment Region (ITIR) for the project. Mr. MB Patil, Minister of Karnataka Industries, said “The government will facilitate this request after due consideration”.

Emmvee Group, founded in 1992, manufactures essential components for solar power generation, including aluminium frames, glass, JB Ribbon, and wafers. The company has cumulative 3 GW of solar module production capacity across its three plants in Bengaluru.
