Cable & Wire Fair 2023: 300+ Exhibitors at 5th Edition

Cable & Wire Fair’s 5th edition was held at Delhi’s Pragati Maidan from 6th to 8th October 2023. The fair witnessed the participation of over 300 exhibitors from the areas of cable machinery, cable raw materials, and cable manufacturing.

Cable & Wire Fair 2023 had the 1st edition of the Tube & Pipe Fair as a co-located event.

Sarvasv Exhibits Recently Launched Skip Stranding Machine, In Process of Capacity Expansion

Sarvasv Showcased its Cable Machine offerings at CWF 2023

Sarvasv Machinery And Equipments Pvt. Ltd. showcased its 1+12 skip-stranding machine for power cable manufacturing. They also provide 19 bobbin skip-stranding machines for power cable. This skip stranding machine was launched by the company about 6 months ago, and has been commissioned in major cable manufacturing companies such as KEI and Havells, and has also been exported to plants in Bangladesh and South Africa.

Mr. Sumit Kapoor, Director at Sarvasv, told CableCommunity.com that the company is in the process of expanding its manufacturing capacity at Bhiwadi. This expansion is expected to be complete by December 2023 and will increase Sarvasv’s manufacturing capacity by 50%. He added that apart from this, the company is planning to implement more automation solutions and Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT)-enabled solutions in its machines.

He elaborated that the major growth drivers have been government’s push to infrastructure sector, which has driven up cable demand, and hence the need for cable manufacturing machinery.

Sarvasv is here to showcase the latest technology in wire & cable industry. We have started with expansion of our manufacturing capacity, and we are inculcating more technology in our machines to cater to our customers’ needs, Mr. Kapoor told CableCommunity.com. “We have received good response from the visitors and several serious inquiries have come in”, he added.

Durga Engineering Exhibits Extruders for HT cables, MVCC and Rubber Cables

Durga Engineering exhibited its cable extrusion machinery at CWF 2023

Durga Engineering Works exhibited its extrusion lines at the Cable & Wire Fair 2023. The company showcased its Sioplas and Catenary Continuous Vulcanization (CCV) lines for HT cable extrusion of 65mm, 120mm & 100 mm. Apart from this, the company exhibited its Medium Voltage Covered Conductor (MVCC) extrusion line and rubber extrusion line for rubber cables.

Mr. Charan Dagar, Founder of Durga Engineering, told CableCommunity.com that the company has utilised Rs. 30 crore as CapEx in FY-24, and about Rs. 50 crore has been earmarked as CapEx for FY-25. This amount will be used towards facility upgradation and capacity expansion. Mr. Dagar also highlighted the fact that the company’s stall at the fair received quality footfall.

Howrah-based Fort Gloster Industries Ltd. (FGIL), participated for the first time in Cable & Wire Fair in 2023. The company, which had halted its production in 2003, resumed its operations after two decades in July 2023.

Speaking to CableCommunity.com, Mr. Jayanta Mallick, VP – Sales & Marketing at FGIL said, “We are back after extensive research on the market, our competition, and customer needs, and our objective in the coming 2 years is to have a sustainable B2B and B2C network”. Mr. Mallick elaborated that the company overhauled its facility with new machinery, and currently has an annual production capacity of 9,000 Km of LT cables & 1,100 Km of HT cables. As of now, about 50-55% of the company’s manufacturing capacity is being utilised, which FGIL targets to take up to 100% by FY-26.

Speaking more about FGIL’s future plans, Mr. Mallick said, “The company has plans to start manufacturing of building wires, and single & multi-core flexible cables in September 2024. We also have plans to start exports after 2026-27”.

He stated that FGIL’s intent of participation in Cable & Wire Fair 2023 is to announce the company’s return with its entire gamut of LT and HT cables.

KEI Showcases Existing Products, New Plant in Gujarat to be Commissioned in 2 Years

KEI Industries, a major cable and wire player, showcased its existing range of cables at the Innovation Pavilion of the Cable & Wire Fair 2023. While speaking to CableCommunity.com, a KEI representative stated that the company’s upcoming plant in Gujarat is expected be commissioned in the next 2 years. Further, he communicated that the company will be strengthening its distribution channels, which along with KEI’s ongoing expansion will help realise its revenue targets.

Apar Industries Promotes its e-beam Cable ‘Anushakti’

Apar Industries’ cable division participated in the Cable & Wire Fair 2023 and promoted their existing range of Light Duty Cables (LDC) at the fair’s Innovation Pavilion.

Some of the brands that were showcased were Apar ‘Anushakti’ and Apar ‘Shakti’. While speaking with CableCommunity.com, representatives at Apar explained that Apar ‘Shakti’ is an FR wire, while Apar ‘Anushakti’ has the capability of withstanding high temperatures and has a high current carrying capacity on account of e-beam cross-linking technology.

Delhi-headquartered Cords Cable Industries promoted its existing product offerings at the Cable & Wire Fair 2023. These included thermocouple cables, LV power, and control & instrumentation cables. The company recently earned a CE certification for its LV cables, signifying its compliance with European standards of safety and quality.

Dhingra Polymers Adds HDPE & ZHFR Compounds to Portfolio

Mr. Sumit Dhingra, Director, Dhingra Polymers, told CableCommunity.com that the company has added High-Density Poly Ethylene (HDPE) compounds and Zero Halogen Fire Resistant (ZHFR) compounds to its product offerings.

Mr. Dhingra added “Cable industry is growing every year, and industrial segments such as power and infrastructure rely on cables”, he said. He elaborated that there is a demand for good products at affordable prices amongst the company’s customers and that Dhingra Polymers has received a good response at the Cable and Wire Fair 2023.

Cable & Wire Fair 2023 Largest Ever Yet

Cable & Wire Fair’s 5th edition marked the largest yet, with the event spread over 2,50,000 sq. ft of show area. Most exhibitors reported a healthy footfall and relevant inquiries at their stalls. The show also featured multiple conferences which gave visitors a chance to engage in discussions with industry stalwarts to gain a deeper insight about the Indian cable & wire industry.
