Bajel Projects Successfully Commissions 400 KV Ananthpuram–Kurnool Transmission Line
Bajel Projects Ltd. has successfully commissioned and charged the 400 kV Ananthpuram–Kurnool transmission line in Andhra Pradesh. The transmission line was officially commissioned on 26th December 2025.
The project was part of the Interstate Transmission System – Tariff-Based Competitive Bidding (ISTS-TBCB) framework. Bajel Projects won this project from Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. (PGCIL) via its subsidiary, Powergrid Ananthpuram Kurnool Transmission Ltd.
As part of this double-circuit transmission line project, the company erected 222 high-tension towers and completed stringing of 171 circuit kilometres of conductor. To execute the project, Bajel Projects managed 15 major overhead crossings, which required strict adherence to safety protocols and close coordination with various government departments.
The new transmission line, running from the Ananthpuram Pooling Station to the Kurnool-III Pooling Station, is designed to enhance grid stability and meet the growing power demand of the Ananthpuram and Kurnool districts.
