Bajaj Electricals Planning to Enter Cables Business

Bajaj Electricals Limited, a Mumbai-based Indian consumer electrical equipment manufacturing company, has announced its plan to enter the cables business under its Lighting Solutions segment.

Bajaj Electricals Sees Growing Demand for Cables

The company has announced the news of its plan to enter the cables business segment through a stock exchange filing dated 5th June 2026. This decision has been taken in view of the growing demand in the cable industry.

As per the filing, Bajaj Electricals is expected to commence operations in this product category soon. Further, the company stated that the investment will be determined based on market opportunities, the scale of operations, business requirements, and other relevant factors.

Bajaj Electricals earlier Entered Wires and Solar Solutions Businesses

Interestingly, cables is not the only new business segment for Bajaj Electricals. The company also announced its entry into the wires segment with the launch of ‘Secura Wires’ in February 2026. Secura Wires are available in four variants, namely Secura (FR), Secura Plus (HR-FR), Secura Green (FR-LSH), and Secura Green Plus (ZH-FR), and in sizes ranging from 0.75 sqmm to 6 sqmm.

In addition, the company announced its foray into the solar solutions business in December 2025 as a new and additional line of business under its Lighting Solutions segment. Highlighting the expected benefits of the new venture, Bajaj Electricals stated that the initiative is aimed at supporting the expansion and diversification of its business operations while driving sustainable growth.

Other Recent Large Entrants in the Cable and Wire Industry

Before Bajaj Electricals, UltraTech Cement and Adani Group had also announced their entry into the cable and wire business segment. UltraTech Cement announced its entry into the segment in February 2025, while Adani Group announced entry in the cable and wire segment in March 2025.

UltraTech Cement is currently setting up a wire and cable manufacturing plant near Bharuch in Gujarat and is expected to commission the facility by December 2026 However, Adani Enterprises later divested its entire 50% shareholding in Praneetha Ecocables Limited (PIL) one year after foraying in the cables business.

Bajaj Electricals also announced its financial results for FY26, reporting a revenue of Rs. 4,462.16 crore. However, the company posted a net loss of Rs. 90.86 crore during the financial year.
