ArcelorMittal Signs MoU with Odisha for INR 50,000 Crore Steel Plant

ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel India Ltd. (AMNS) has signed an MoU with the Odisha government on 4^thMarch 2021 to invest INR 50,000 Crore to set up a new 12 MTPA Steel plant in Odisha. Chief Minister of Odisha, Mr. Naveen Patnaik and ArcelorMittal Executive Chairman Mr. Lakshmi N Mittal were present during the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at Lokaseva Bhavan, the Odisha State Secretariat.

In recent auction AMNS India Ltd. won two iron ore mines in Odisha, namely Thakurani and Sagasahi. In an exchange filling the company informed that it has started operations in Thakurani mine and Sagasahi mine is close to commissioning.
