Adani Ports to Develop West Container Terminal of Colombo Port

Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone Limited (APSEZ), the largest commercial ports operator in India will now develop West Container Terminal (WCT) at Colombo Port of Sri Lanka.

Sri Lankan cabinet has approved to develop WCT of Colombo South Port as a private-public limited company in collaboration with the Sri Lanka Ports Authority and parties nominated by the Indian and Japanese governments.

WCT will be operated over a period of 35 years as a public-private partnership with APSEZ.

West Container Terminal of Colombo port will have a 1,400-meter quay wall, water depth of 20 meter, terminal area of about 64 hectares with an annual capacity of 2.6 million twenty-foot equivalent unit (TEUs).
