Torrent Power Appoints Vikas Poddar as CFO
Torrent Power Limited has appointed Mr. Vikas Poddar as the company’s new Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and Key Managerial Personnel (KMP), effective from 21st August 2026.
Mr. Poddar holds a Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com. Hons.) degree from St. Xavier’s College, Kolkata, which he completed in 1995. He also qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1997 from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI). Further, Mr. Poddar completed Master of Business Administration (MBA) in International Finance from the National University of Singapore in 2003.
With around 28 years of working experience, Mr. Poddar has held various key roles across multiple companies. He began his career with Thai Filament Co. Ltd. as a Finance Manager, where he worked for more than seven years. He subsequently joined ITC Limited as a Finance Manager and served in the role for over two years.
Mr. Vikas Poddar spent around 10 years with Vodafone. He joined the company in 2008 as Finance Head and was later promoted to Senior Vice President. In 2018, he was appointed Global Head of Finance at Vodafone Intelligent Solutions, a division of Vodafone Group Plc.
Prior to joining Torrent Power, Mr. Poddar was serving as the Chief Financial Officer of Indus Towers Limited, a telecommunications infrastructure company in India.
