Bajaj Electricals Ltd. [NSE: BAJAJELEC, BOM: 500031], a Mumbai-based manufacturer of electrical consumer goods, has announced its financial results for Q1 of FY-25.

On Year-over-Year (YoY) basis, the company’s quarterly revenue increased by 4% to Rs. 1,152.25 crore during Q1 of FY-25 from its Rs. 1,107.98 crore top-line for Q1 of FY-24. In stark contrast, the company’s net profit slumped to Rs. 28.11 crore in Q1 of FY-25 from Bajaj Electricals’ Rs. 37.13 crore net profit for Q1 of FY-24. This reflects a significant YoY decrease of 24.29% in the company’s net profit.

Earnings Per Share (EPS) of the company were Rs. 2.44 during Q1 of FY-25 against Rs. 3.23 during Q1 of FY-24.

QoQ Results Analysis of Bajaj Electricals Financial Performance: Q1 FY-25 vs. Q4 FY-24

On Quarter-over-Quarter (QoQ) basis, Bajaj Electricals’ revenue dropped slightly by 2.43% from Rs. 1,180.98 crore, which was logged for Q4 of FY-24. Following suit, the company’s net profit also fell slightly by 4.09% from Rs. 29.31 crore reported by the company during Q4 of FY-24.

Comparison of Bajaj Electricals’ Consumer Products Segment-Wise Financials: Q1 FY-24 vs. Q1 FY-25

Consumer Products: The company earned a revenue of Rs. 905.16 crore during Q1 of FY-25 from its Consumer Products segment. This shows a YoY growth of 3.73% from the company’s Rs. 872.60 crore Q1 FY-24 Consumer Products revenue.

During the company’s earnings call for Q1 FY-25 financials, Mr. Shekhar Bajaj, Chairman of Bajaj Electricals, said “Our Consumer Product vertical has demonstrated revenue growth after 4 quarters. We have also managed a few price hikes and streamlined some of our discounting schemes as our products gain greater acceptance with our customers”.

Comparison of Bajaj Electricals’ Lighting Products Segment-Wise Financials: Q1 FY-24 vs. Q1 FY-25

Lighting Solutions: Bajaj Electricals reported a revenue of Rs. 249.75 crore from its Lighting Solutions segment in Q1 of FY-25. This marks a 4.27% YoY jump from its Rs. 239.53 crore revenue clocked from this segment during Q1 of FY-24.

Mr. Anuj Poddar, MD & CEO of Bajaj Electricals, said “If you see our track record in Lighting Solutions, we have been growing consistently over there. The top line has been managed well despite a price erosion in the marketplace”. He further added that, at the same time, the company’s margins have been consistently expanding and crossed double-digits in the first quarter of FY-25.

Management Insights on Bajaj Electricals’ Q1 FY-25 Financial Performance

Commenting on the company’s financial performance, Mr. Bajaj said “We continue to maintain strong positive cashflows and focus on our long-term strategic objectives with a continued push on new products and brand strengthening“. He expressed that with a pickup in demand during second half of FY-25, the company would see a strong upward performance.
