PGCIL Acquires Bhadla Transmission Project from REC Power Development & Consultancy
Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (PGCIL) has acquired Bhadla-III Power Transmission Limited from REC Power Development and Consultancy Limited (RECPDCL) through Tariff Based Competitive Bidding (TBCB). This information was shared by PGCIL in its stock filing dated 28th August 2024.
Bhadla-III Power Transmission Ltd. is a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV), established for an Inter-State Transmission System (ISTS) project titled ‘Additional transmission system for evacuation of power from Bhadla-III Pooling Station as part of Rajasthan REZ Phase III (20 GW)’. This project will be executed on a Build, Own, Operate, and Transfer (BOOT) basis within a period of 18 months from the transfer of SPV.
In this project, capacity at the Bhadla pooling station will be augmented by installing 2 Interconnecting Transformers (ICTs) of 1,500 MVA, which can transform the voltage from 765 KV to 400 KV. Further, two ICTs of 500 MVA, with a transformation capacity of 400 KV to 200 KV will also be established at the pooling station.
