Ircon, Paras Railtech & PCM Strescon JV Wins Rs. 750 Cr. Order from RVNL
A joint venture (JV) of Ircon International Ltd., Paras Railtech Pvt. Ltd., and PCM Strescon Overseas Ventures Ltd. has received a Letter of Award (LoA) for design and supply of Ballastless Track (BLT) for a stretch on the Rishikesh-Karanparayag rail line. This order will be executed at a cost of Rs. 750.82 crore. The JV has secured this order from Rail Vikas Nigam Ltd. (RVNL) through competitive bidding process.
This order entails designing, supplying, installing, testing and commissioning of ballastless track from chainage (Ch.) 6+015 (Final Location Survey) to Ch. 125+200 (Final Location Survey) on the Broad Gauge (BG) line which is currently being developed between Rishikesh and Karanprayag in Uttarakhand. The JV will also supply Ballast and install the track, excluding supply of rails and track sleepers, on the aforementioned section of the line. This order has a its completion period specified as 42 months.
Work on the Rishikesh-Karanprayag Broad Gauge line is expected to be complete by December 2025. This project is being developed by RVNL to provide better connectivity to pilgrimage sites in Uttarakhand.
