L&T Energy Wins Offshore Order Worth Rs. 2,500-5,000 Cr. from ONGC
Larsen & Toubro Energy, the Hydrocarbon business segment of L&T, has won an order for offshore works from Oil & Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC). This order has been valued between Rs. 2,500 to Rs. 5,000 crore.
Scope of work in this order includes installing and commissioning four Wellhead Platforms*, 140-Km pipeline and related topside** modifications at an offshore location in the Tapti Daman block. This block is a part of the Bombay offshore basin.
Commenting on this win, Mr Subramanian Sarma, Whole-time Director & President (Energy), L&T said: “This order demonstrates ONGC’s confidence in L&T forged through execution of multiple complex offshore projects and also reinforces L&T’s commitment to contribute towards India’s energy security”.
*Wellhead Platforms are offshore structures positioned above underwater oil or gas wells. These are used to extract oil and gas from sea bed.
** Topside refers to the structures of offshore oil and gas platforms above the water-line which comprises the surface deck.
