Universal Cables Q3 FY23 Financials: Revenue Soars 20.62%, Profits Grow 78.44% YoY

Universal Cables Limited [NSE: UNIVCABLES, BOM: 504212], an Indian cable manufacturer (also known as Unistar) and a part of the MP Birla Group, has announced its financial figures for the quarter ended 31st December 2022.

During the third quarter of FY-23, Universal Cables clocked a standalone revenue of Rs. 590.99 crore.

Correspondingly, the standalone Profit After Tax (PAT) earned by the company for this period stood at Rs. 13.44 crore.

On a Year-over-Year (YoY) basis, Universal Cables’ Q3 consolidated revenue from operations exhibited a healthy growth of 20.62% to Rs. 590.99 crore in FY-23 from Rs. 489.98 crore during FY-22.

The company’s Q3 PAT also followed an upward trajectory, rocketing by an impressive 78.44% YoY growth. For the quarter ended 31st December 2022, Universal Cables reported a PAT of Rs. 24.41 crore, as compared to Rs. 13.68 crore earned as PAT for the same period in the previous fiscal.

QoQ Comparison of Universal Cables’ Financial Results: Q3 FY-23 vs. Q2 FY-23

Quarter-over-Quarter (QoQ) comparison of Unistar’s revenue from operations reflects an increase of 14.92%. The company had reported Rs. 514.28 crore as its revenue from operations for the second quarter of FY 23.

PAT, however, exhibited a meagre drop of 5.79% from Q2 to Q3 of FY-23. For the quarter ended 30th September 2022, Unistar’s PAT stood at Rs. 25.91 crore.
